DESCRIPTION:Basic Wall Systems and their Moisture Control Mechanisms\n\nIIBEC – Canadian Prairies is hosting a Lunch ‘n Learn talk on “Basic Wall Systems and their Moisture Control Mechanisms”.\n \nJoin us for an online talk, Water getting into the wrong places is a significant issue with our building enclosures. In order to understand how to prevent water from getting into the wrong places in our walls, we must first understand how a wall controls moisture. Through this presentation, we will discuss the basic wall systems, including Face Sealed Systems, Drained/Screened Systems and Mass Systems and how they control moisture.\n \nThis talk is being presented by Marla Snoddon, P. Eng. and Johnathon Bain, P. Eng. This Lunch ‘n Learn is good for 1 CEH.\n \n​About the presenters:\nMarla is passionate about helping people better understand their buildings and how to best construct, repair and maintain them. Practicing as a Building Envelope Engineer, she has delivered consulting and design services for a wide range of new and existing buildings, including reserve fund studies, building envelope (cladding, roofing, window systems) condition assessments and restoration projects.\nJohnathon is a father, husband, engineer, mentor, mentee, pianist in training, youth rugby coach, cyclist, baker and volunteer.
