IIBEC Emerging Professionals Award of Excellence
The Emerging Professionals Award of Excellence was created in 2014. It is awarded to a young professional (defined as being within the first 10 years of their career) who has shown exceptional leadership, professionalism, and/or industry contribution in their career in the field of roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems.
The final determination for this award is decided upon by the IIBEC Emerging Professionals Committee.

Richard M. Horowitz Award
In 1995, IIBEC lost one of its most popular and dedicated members, past president Richard M. “Dick” Horowitz, RRC, F-IIBEC. Horowitz was a driving force behind IIBEC’s RRC exam and its technical journal, IIBEC Interface. In 1996, IIBEC named an award for the best technical article published in IIBEC Interface after its favorite wordsmith.

Joshua J. Summers Outstanding Educator Award
Formerly named the Outstanding Educator Award, in 2020, IIBEC renamed this prestigious award in memory of longtime IIBEC Education Committee Chair Joshua J. Summers, REWC, SE, PE. This award is presented to IIBEC members in recognition for their consistent outstanding delivery of IIBEC courses.

William C. Correll Award
The William C. Correll Award honors IIBEC pioneer and first executive director, William C. Correll Sr., F-IIBEC, AIA. It is presented at the discretion of the Jury of Fellows to “people who have demonstrated a high degree of professionalism, leadership, ethics, unselfish dedication, or significant contribution to the growth and recognition of IIBEC.”

Herbert Busching Award
In 1994, the IIBEC Executive Committee established the Dr. Herbert Busching Award after the late Clemson University professor and engineer. Busching was a dedicated early member of IIBEC and the first chairman of the IIBEC Board of Regents. Recipients of this award are “people who have contributed to the research, standards, and education of the roofing, waterproofing, and/or exterior wall industries.”

Induction into the Jury of Fellows
The designation of “Fellow” is an honorary title bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated meritorious service. IIBEC, strengthened by its officers and volunteers, has recognized certain persons in this manner (see Article 17 of IIBEC’s bylaws).
