Building enclosure professionals descended upon Orlando, Florida, for Day One of the 2025 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show at the Rosen Shingle Creek.
Attendees, welcomed throughout the day at a busy registration desk, navigated the convention center with ease thanks to extensive signage and branding for the 2025 event, billed as “Live in ’25.”
The education content started with an all-day auxiliary seminar, “Waterproofing: Advancing Durability in Building Design and Protection,” presented by Paul Buccellato, F-IIBEC, RWC, REWC, FASTM, AIA, and Samir Ibrahim, F-IIBEC, AIA, CSI.
Those who wanted to be outdoors took advantage of the RCI-IIBEC Foundation Golf Tournament, which began with a breakfast and an 8 a.m. tee time, followed by a lunch and awards ceremony.
IIBEC committee meetings dominated the afternoon, as 10 separate committees met to help guide the organization in the coming year.
A well-attended IIBEC Welcome Reception, sponsored by Versico Roofing Systems, provided food and drink at the end of Day One of the convention, followed by separate receptions sponsored by Johns Manville, Carlisle, and USG.
Friday’s events will include multiple education sessions, region meetings, the opening ceremony and keynote presentation from Joel Neeb, and the trade show grand opening and reception, including product demonstrations from Sika Corp., Polyglass USA Inc., and McElroy Metal. Hospitality suites from Siplast, IB Roof, and Soprema will cap a busy Day Two of the 2025 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show.
