Academic scholarship applications are being accepted now through April 14, 2025, for the Robert W. Lyons and RCI Lewis W. Newlan awards.
Each year the RCI-IIBEC Foundation awards up to $30,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited program of architecture, architectural engineering, structural or civil engineering, construction, or building sciences. Since 2018, the foundation has awarded $197,500 in scholarships to 57 students through this program.
The Lyons scholarship award is $5,000 and is for undergraduate education expenses for students studying architecture, engineering, construction, or building sciences. The RCI Newlan scholarship award is for $2,500 and is open to both undergraduate and graduate students—again for studies in architecture, engineering, construction, or building sciences. Scholarship winners are selected based on financial need, letters of recommendation, and the student’s request for consideration.
Additionally, the RCI-IIBEC Foundation and RCI Foundation Canada continues to accept applications for college students to attend the 2025 IIBEC Convention and Trade Show, March 6–9, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. Through the Joe Hale Student Sponsorship Fund, registration, hotel, and up to $750 USD in travel expenses are covered for students. Deadline for applications is Friday, January 17, 2025.
