IIBEC Mid-Atlantic has had a busy couple of months this fall!
The chapter hosted their Annual Golf Outing on September 29, 2022 at Little Bennett Golf Course in Clarksburg, Maryland. The event had nearly 60 participants who enjoyed a round of golf followed by a catered lunch and raffle. This event helps the IIBEC Mid-Atlantic Chapter provide a donation to the RCI-IIBEC Foundation and to fund a scholarship for Virginia Tech. The chapter thanks thanks their wonderful sponsors:

On October 13, 2022, the chapter held their Annual Crab Feast as a “thank you” to those in the industry that support our local IIBEC chapter and contribute to the success of all its volunteers’ efforts. The event was held at a new location this year, in Annapolis on the Chesapeake Bay, with the same great steamed crabs and barbeque catering that has helped make this event a great success for several years.
On October 20, 2022, the chapter hosted its first in-person education seminar in two years! The event showcased four great presentations from Carlisle Construction Materials, Henry Company, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., and Metal-Era.
The chapter sends a special “thank you” to Convoy Supply for hosting their event and providing breakfast and lunch.
The chapter held one final education seminar on November 17, 2022, and that is a wrap on 2022.
The IIBEC Mid-Atlantic Chapter appreciates everyone’s contributions and looks forward to these events and more in 2023!
The IIBEC Southern Ontario Chapter hosted its final technical course on Stucco and Exterior Finish Cladding Systems. The course was held virtually over three half-days – October 20, 21, and 27 and was presented by Chris Hunter (Georgia-Pacific Canada), Kevin Day (Sense Engineering), and Burt Carver (Apex Building Sciences Inc.).
The Stucco and Exterior Finish Cladding Systems Course is the third specific exterior wall course that builds on the fundamentals presented in Exterior Walls and Science. The purpose of the course is to provide essential information on material properties, design principles, evaluation techniques, and repair methods for stucco and EIFS.
A special thanks to our education committee and presenters for putting this event together.
