The IIBEC Southern California Chapter was pleased to host a technical dinner meeting with an educational presentation about roof assemblies on October 27, 2022, at the Boathouse on the Bay in Long Beach.
Approximately 32 attendees were able to mingle prior to the presentation and dinner. We were able to provide this technical dinner meeting thanks to our event sponsors, Axis Building Leak Detection, VaproShield, and Pacific Architectural Concepts!
Guests were greeted by Chapter President Rick Mosco who kicked things off with local chapter updates along with upcoming IIBEC event reminders.
The technical speaker for the evening was Scott Wood of Vaproshield and SWA Consulting. Wood reviewed the history of roofing underlayments and modern advancements, as well as reviewed many studies performed on vapor permeable systems and how to design a durable roofing assembly. Following the presentation, the attendees and speaker had a very in-depth discussion with many questions and responses.
Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner right along the marina at Long Beach. Guests earned 1 hour of continuing education approved by IIBEC and AIA. We would like to extend our appreciation to Mr. Wood for his efforts in providing an informed presentation; Axis Building Leak Detection, Vaproshield, and Pacific Architectural Concepts for their support of our chapter; and thanks to all of those who took the time to attend.
