Vidaris Inc. announced that Amy Peevey has joined its Building Envelope team as regional director located in the firm’s Houston, TX office. Peevey will lead the company’s growth opportunities for the Southwest, with a focus on Texas. She is a Professional Engineer and building enclosure consultant, with a career in the AEC industry spanning over 20 years. Local to the Houston area, she has previously worked for other engineering and building enclosure firms, including DeSimone and Wiss, Janney, Elstner and Associates, Inc., and was the founding partner of Building Exterior Solutions. She is currently IIBEC’s secretary/treasurer, and is the first woman to serve on IIBEC’s executive committee. She has published and presented on building enclosure related topics for IIBEC; ASTM; Sealant, Restoration and Waterproofing Institute; Building Enclosure Council; American Institute of Architects; and Structural Engineers Association of Texas (SEAoT). Peevey holds a bachelor of science degree in architectural engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
Dennis Keith Davis
D. Keith Davis, RBEC, 57, of Indian Land, SC, died June 25, 2020, after a three-week battle with COVID-19. He received his BA in architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, then worked at Omni-Architecture, Robert M. Stafford, and Mactec Engineering, where he began his specialization in building enclosure design and engineering. He also worked at REI Engineers and formed the Keith Davis Group. Most recently, he was employed at Rodgers Builders. Davis was an active member of IIBEC, who earned the Outstanding Educator award in 2017, was certified as a Registered Building Enclosure Consultant, and served on the Interface Editorial Review Board. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Ray Davis; children Sarah and Alex Davis; their mother, Stacy Davis; brother Scott; sister Lori Thorton; and fiancée Serpil Wilson. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Craven Davis, two months previously—also from COVID-19; and a brother, Donald Craven Davis. Bill Elliott
William “Bill” Elliott, 53, died suddenly May 16, 2020, at his home. He was born in Exeter, Ontario, then moved to Alberta. He studied civil engineering technology at Fanshawe College and eventually started Swan Roof Consulting Inc. in Calgary, with his wife, Cindy. He was a longtime Consultant member of IIBEC and a Registered Roof Observer, a member of the Alberta Allied Roofing Association, and of the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia. He loved the outdoors and hunting. He is survived by his wife Cindy; children Katrina, Alyssa, and Jake; father John; mother Dianne and stepfather Harry Cook; brother Gary, and grandmother Marion Elliott.
Gregory Cove
Gregory Cove, Hull, MA, died in June at the age of 71. A former member of IIBEC and a Registered Roof Observer, Cove has previously worked for Gale Associates in Baltimore, MD; Celotex Corp., in Tampa, FL; RCH Roofing; and Peterson Associates in Phoenix.
