Kristen Kennedy joined IIBEC on December 16, 2020, in the role of director of education. She will work with the Education Committee to continue to build upon the current education offerings as well as assisting in the development of new educational content.
Prior to joining IIBEC, Kennedy was the associate executive director at the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), where she worked with the graduate medical education community to educate them on ACGME program requirements. Additionally, she collaborated with physician committee members to ensure residency programs adhered to the program requirements set forth by the committee.
During her tenure at the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP), Kennedy successfully developed an education department and worked with physician stakeholders to create education for the emergency medicine community. She also collaborated with subject matter experts in the development of continuing education.
Kennedy earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Illinois State University, a master’s degree in business and marketing education from North Carolina State University, and a second master’s degree in educational leadership from the American College of Education.
Kennedy resides in Chicago, Illinois, with her husband Eric, twin daughters Gabi and Nora, and dog Chewy. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, and traveling. Her passion for education has spanned over almost two decades as she began her professional career as a high school business and consumer science teacher.
