At the conclusion of the 2017 RCI Annual Convention, current RCI CEO James Birdsong announced to the Board of Directors that he intended to retire from RCI at the conclusion of the 2018 annual convention. Mr. Birdsong also stated that he could accelerate or delay his departure if necessary to assist the board in naming a replacement for the position. Mr. Birdsong has been the CEO since 2001.
President Michael Williams has said that the Board of Directors will form a search committee within the next several weeks to begin the process of identifying and selecting a new CEO. The Board has expressed and acknowledged Mr. Birdsong’s dedicated service and the progress that has been made with both RCI and the Foundations during his tenure.
