The 2024 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show got underway Friday, March 8, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona, with the Foundations’ Golf Tournament, an auxiliary seminar, the opening reception, and vendor-sponsored events that ran well into the evening.
Overnight rain did not deter IIBEC’s golfers from attending the annual Foundations’ Golf Tournament, held this year at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. The rain had ceased by tee time, with conditions improving throughout the morning.
Back at the Phoenix Convention Center, an all-day auxiliary seminar, IIBEC Reroofing, was led by Aaron B. Nelson, RBEC, RRO, and Stephanie Robinson, PEng, who discussed steps required for a roof consultant to successfully evaluate an existing roof and to make decisions regarding roof design using available references, resources, and evaluation techniques.
Registration continued throughout the day, as building enclosure consultants from across North America, Canada, and Mexico arrived for the industry’s premier event.
IIBEC committee meetings dominated the afternoon, as committee members set a course for the organization’s efforts in the coming months.
The evening included a number of receptions, including the popular IIBEC Opening Reception, followed by well-attended receptions sponsored by Carlisle, Johns Manville, and USG.
Saturday highlights at the 2024 IIBEC convention will include a general session on natural disasters; two education-session blocks; the trade show grand opening and reception; three product demonstrations; region meeting lunches; and the opening ceremony and keynote.
