Computer vision, paired with artificial intelligence (AI), has been in use on jobsites for a few years now, used to analyze safety hazards such as whether construction workers were wearing personal protection equipment (PPE) such as safety gloves and hardhats. Now AI vendor Smartvid.io is adding social distance monitoring to its software’s feature set.
Within weeks of the suggestion to add this feature, the company was able to create a new tag in the system for the AI to note groups often or more people and other forms of crowding.
