Policy Statements

The goal of an IIBEC Policy Statements is to provide IIBEC’s position on an issue that affects the building enclosure consulting profession—either in a direct or a broad way. These board approved policy statements are used to educate policymakers, the public, and the construction industry Additionally, IIBEC issues Technical Advisories which describe and convey IIBEC’s positions and information concerning timely technical issues and are presented in the form of white papers, commentaries, or other analyses, supported by objective, sound research and technical documentation.

Policy Statements are the basis for any statements made on behalf of IIBEC to Congress, Parliament, federal regulatory agencies, state, provincial and local governments, the media and the public. Policy Statement topics may be brought forward for consideration by the Public Policy Subcommittee of the Advocacy Committee by the Board, committees, chapters, or individuals. These statements are reviewed every three years by Advocacy Committee and the Board of Directors.

Chapter News: IIBEC Arizona Chapter Hosts Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament

The IIBEC Arizona Chapter proudly hosted its first annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Ravin Golf Club in Phoenix on March 20, 2026. It was a tremendous success.

IIBEC Announces 2026–2027 Board of Directors

The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) on March 15, 2026, announced the results of its recent board and officer elections. IIBEC President Chris Dawkins, PE, passed the president’s gavel to new IIBEC President Jennifer Hogan, REWC, CBECxP, RRO, LEED AP, Certified Passive House Consultant, making Dawkins IIBEC’s immediate past president. Burt Carver, RRC, RRO, is IIBEC’s new first vice president, and Julie Palmer, RRO, is IIBEC’s new second vice president. Joining the IIBEC Executive Committee as its secretary-treasurer is Jon Cannon, RRC, REWC, RRO, REWO, CDT. New to the IIBEC Board of Directors for 2026–2027 are Region IV Director Mallory Buckley, RRO, PE, BECxP + CxA+BE, and Region V Director André Coppin, RRC, RRO, AIA. Re-elected for a second term was Region VI Director Jon Solland, RRC, RWC, RRO, PEng.

IIBEC Announces Winners of Its Third Annual EBEC Awards

The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) awarded its Excellence in Building Enclosure Consulting (EBEC) Awards—now in their third year—to winners in four categories. The awards, handed out March 14 during the 2026 IIBEC International Conference and Trade Show in Sacramento, California, went to building enclosure consultants for the following projects.
