Foundations’ Auction to Soak Up the Sun in Orlando

The RCI-IIBEC Foundation and RCI Foundation Canada auction is set for 5:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 20, at the 2022 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show in Orlando, Florida. The auction is an opportunity to help grow the building enclosure industry by supporting both foundations and their missions to fund research, advance education, and disseminate information on issues important to the industry.

Your participation in the auction through donations, gifts, and other support help the foundations fund research grants, publish educational materials, and create convention sponsorships and academic scholarships for students studying architecture, engineering, and building and construction sciences. With your contributions this past year, the foundations sent 23 students to the 2022 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show in Phoenix, Arizona; awarded eight academic scholarships across the country (totaling $120,000 since the scholarships began); and supported the creation of the Joe Hale Library of Fort Chiswell, Virginia.

This year’s event theme is “Soak Up the Sun!” and will feature silent and live auctions; a 50/50 drawing; and door prize drawings for a Bulova Frank Sinatra Fly Me to the Moon Men’s Watch, a Le Vian Sunny Yellow Diamond ring, and a $500 Amazon gift card. Additionally, there will be a “call to heart” online to support the newly named Joe Hale Student Sponsorship Fund (formerly the Student Convention Fund). You must be present to win one of the door prizes, and additional tickets for improving your chances will be available for $20 each. You will find something special among the numerous auction items for every taste and budget—including a chocolate pearl necklace, a week at Saint Kitts, and a Boston Red Sox package in the live auction.

The auction will be held in the Sebastian I Ballroom on the first level of the Rosen Shingle Resort. Tickets are $20 each and are available through convention online registration, on the trade show floor on Saturday, March 19, or at the door. Pre-purchasing your ticket before the auction is encouraged. Cash, check, and credit card will be accepted.

Bidding for all the items in the silent auction will take place online. To register, sign up online at https://2022foundationsonline.asimobile.net/. You need not be present to participate. Additionally, if you wish to bid on any of the live auction items and will not be in attendance, send your bid via email to Foundations Development Officer Rick Gardner at rgardner@iibec.org on or before 5 p.m. ET on March 19, 2022, indicating the specific live auction item you are bidding on and how much you are willing to bid for the item.
