The RCI Document Competition deadline is fast approaching on September 30, 2017. As a reminder, a new “Special Projects” category has been added to the 2018 competition. The establishment of this category recognizes that RCI Consultant and Quality Assurance Observer members often develop documents that may include more unique repair documents, a single unique repair to address a special condition, a graphical peer review, or any other document type that does not necessarily align with the Report or Large and Small Construction Project categories.

The goal of the RCI Document Competition is to solicit quality work products from our membership and to share it with the membership, thereby improving the overall quality of the work product of RCI members. I challenge you to join me and the Document Competition Committee in improving the work product of our industry by participating in the 2018 RCI Document Competition and encouraging the members of your local chapter and region to do the same.

Also new this year, entry in the document competition by chapter members earns points towards the coveted Outstanding RCI Affiliated Chapter Award. Ten points are awarded for entering and 15 points for placing in the Document Competition!

To be considered, entries must be postmarked on or before September 30, 2017. Please download the PDF of 2018 document competition entry forms and instructions from the RCI website at http://www.iibec.org/document-competition.html. There is no fee to enter the competition. Complete an entry form for each entry submitted, and send entries to the Attention of RCI Document Competition, RCI, Inc., 1500 Sunday Drive, Suite 204, Raleigh, NC 27607.
