IIBEC was one of the 16 sponsors of the second Mexico Roofing Day, held November 7 and 8, 2024, in Monterrey, NL. More than 200 consultants, contractors, and manufacturers gathered for two days of technical talks focused on improved roof design and performance.
Day one featured eight technical presentations on a number of aspects of roofing, including silicone coatings, use of coverboards, FM standards in Mexico, perimeter edge metal systems, and net zero energy.
Day two featured seven technical presentations about high-performance roofs, innovations in steel construction, keys to roof longevity, hail damage and low-slope roofs, designing to the ASCE-7 wind uplift standards, and advances in single-ply membranes.
IIBEC First Vice President Chris Dawkins, PE, presented “Hail Damage and Low-Slope Roofing: The Case for Improved Roof Design.”
The event featured tabletop exhibits and opportunities for attendees to network during breaks, lunch, and a closing reception.
