The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) is the association for design professionals who specialize in building enclosure consulting since. Founded in 1983, as the Roof Consultants institute, it later became RCI, Inc., and then in 2019, rebranded as the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants as its purpose evolved and its membership expanded their services.

IIBEC’s Consultant members offer unbiased design, repair planning, quality assurance observance, legal testimony, and other building enclosure management services while adhering to a strict code of ethics that offers unprejudiced service without affiliation with any product or manufacturer. Current membership is over 3,700, boasting an international membership residing across the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

Our educational programs are designed to explain the practical application of roofing, exterior wall, and waterproofing technologies, as well as building enclosure commissioning.  A technical journal, interactive technical library featuring over 2200 fully searchable resources, ongoing chapter and branch events, and a professional mentorship program provide interactive forums and resources for information exchange and networking.

IIBEC credentials represent the pinnacle of building enclosure consulting.  Our credentialing programs distinguish professionals with proven standards of education, experience, and ethics.
