Does your chapter support any local charities? What do you do for fundraising?
Yes, we are proud to support SafeHaven, a freedom from domestic violence organization in North Texas. SafeHaven is the largest and most comprehensive agency in Tarrant County providing services at no cost to domestic violence victims. SafeHaven provides 24-hour care at two emergency shelters and transitional housing to families seeking their first taste of independence. Clients under the care of SafeHaven receive counseling, legal services, case management and so much more.
This organization is very close to the hearts of both our chapter leadership and member base. We utilize our annual Christmas party to collect gifts for single mothers with children that live in the SafeHaven facility. We also have continued to support them financially during the holiday season.
What is your favorite location to hold a meeting. Why?
Our favorite location is The Ranch – Las Colinas, and that reason is simple, it’s the meatloaf!
Everyone loves swag! Does your chapter have any interesting items that are particular fan favorites?
We provided IIBEC logo face masks and gators at our annual golf tournament and also at our two-day education event. We plan to continue to provide them at gatherings as needed for the safety our members.
Does your chapter provide or support any scholarships for students?
Yes! We have a graduate student scholarship with the University of Texas at Arlington and donate $5,000 to it each year.
What do you all feel is the greatest takeaway from chapter involvement?
Our greatest takeaways from chapter involvement are found in the friendships built while breaking bread together and having hundreds of years in industry knowledge and experience supporting you.
