The entry deadline for the 2017 RCI Document Competition is upon us. This is your opportunity to show off your talent or simply share an unusual or interesting project that you’ve had the opportunity to work on, and to pick up a few RCI Dollars in the process.
To refresh your memory, the Document Competition pays out for first-, second-, and third-place entries in three categories: Large Projects (over $1,000,000), Small Projects (less than $1,000,000), and Reports. First-place will garner you $1,000 RCI Dollars, second-place wins $500, and third-place receives $200. RCI Dollars can be used to purchase any RCI or RCI Foundation product such as membership renewal, course fees, books, etc.; and they are transferable.
Last year’s contest received 30 entries (a 77% increase over the previous year’s participation). There were eight Large Project, nine Small Project, and 13 Report entries. Let’s keep the momentum going! All competition entries will be displayed at the RCI Trade Show during the annual convention, giving you and your work exposure.
Winning entrants will be recognized at the Annual Awards Luncheon during the 2017 convention in Anaheim, CA, where they will receive RCI Dollars, along with a commemorative plaque. Their project summaries will also be published in RCI’s technical journal, RCI Interface.
It costs nothing to enter, other than the time it takes to prepare the documents and to secure a release statement from the project’s client or building owner. Entries for the 2017 RCI Document Competition must be postmarked on or before October 31, 2016, to be considered.

You have to enter to win.
