Abstracts should be submitted digitally using the form below. Refer to the Sample Outline and Presentation Guide for submission requirements regarding the PowerPoint and Outline.

Publication Rights

Papers and abstracts accepted for presentation may subsequently be published in IIBEC publications. Audio and/or video of presentations made for IIBEC events may be subsequently published in IIBEC publications and/or platforms. IIBEC reserves the right of first publication of all submitted materials accepted for presentation at any event sponsored by IIBEC and retains the copyright thereafter. All submitted abstracts, presentations, papers, and articles must be original to the author and not previously published or presented nor scheduled for publication or presentation in any other publication or venue. Exceptions may be granted at the discretion of IIBEC.

Author Instructions

Please submit electronically below and ensure you have read the IIBEC Guidelines for Presentations, complete directions on formatting, and acceptable formats for abstracts and PowerPoints . A topic description must be provided addressing the speaker’s subject knowledge and the level of knowledge that will be presented to the attendee (i.e., intermediate or advanced). Six IIBEC CEHs will be granted for an accepted presentations. Additionally, presenters will earn triple credit for the length of the program (1 presentation hour yields 3 CEHs).

If you are accepted as a presenter, you will also need to submit an outline detailing your topic along with your PowerPoint presentation. You can locate more information and a sample outline and presentation guide.

NOTE: It is imperative that owners/clients (if applicable) have been notified this abstract is being submitted for consideration of a presentation at the 2022 Building Enclosure Symposium and have given consent to do so.

Abstract Preparation

The abstract should be a concise proposal of new information that is technically sound and credible.

Your abstract should include the following:

  • Primary issue being addressed
  • Type and basis of the new information that will be contributed to the industry (e.g., research conducted, personal experience).
  • Intended primary audience concise statement describing the new information and how the information will be useful to the primary audience.

To receive the IIBEC member rate, you must renew or join prior to registering for the conference. IIIBEC membership is not required to register, but you are required to create a non-member profile prior to registering.

In-person, full-conference attendee rate includes breakfasts, lunches, and refreshment breaks as well as networking in the exhibit hall.

*AEI/ASCE members should use the code AEIBES2022 (early bird) or AEIBES2022REG (regular rate after September 14, 2022). AEI/ASCE membership status will be verified and non-members will be charged the nonmember rate

Payment: You may complete your online registration with one of the following payment methods: American Express, MasterCard, or Visa. Mailed registrations and credit card payments must be received by September 14, 2022, to qualify for the early bird registration rate.

If you are unable to complete your online registration in one session and do not provide credit card payment, you will receive an email notification with a link for you to complete your registration.

By registering for the 2022 Building Enclosure Symposium, you consent to the following age limit policy: All registrants, including guests, must be at least 16 years of age. This policy applies to educational sessions, the exhibit hall, and networking/social events.

Cancellation Policy

Refund requests received 14 calendar days prior to the event will be accepted and issued a 50% refund. No refund will be processed on requests received less than 14 calendar days prior to the event. Refund requests will be processed no later than 30 days post event.

Substitution Policy

Substitution of a registered attendee is allowed at any time with the written authorization of the person who is no longer able to attend. The substitute attendee must be from the same institution as the original registered attendee. Send the name of the original registrant and substitute attendee’s name and contact information to the IIBEC in writing to meetings@iibec.org. Substitutions are subject to a $25.00 administrative fee.

Built in 1927, the Art Deco hotel retains many of its original features and is connected by skywalk to the Wisconsin Center. We’re within a mile of the Pabst Theater, Milwaukee Art Museum, Fiserv Forum, and Deer District.

Hotel Payment Policy

A credit card is required to process your reservation. Your credit card is required as a guarantee and may be charged one night’s stay in advance of your arrival. Should you wish to pay by check, please plan to hand-carry the check to the hotel and provide it at check-in. The hotel will require additional funds for incidentals. Please do not send any check deposits to IIBEC or the hotel prior to arrival. IIBEC is not responsible for lost check deposits.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations within 72 hours of arrival are subject to one-night’s room and tax.

IIBEC is not responsible for no-shows or early departure fees charged by the hotel or rooms resold due to non-arrival. Your specific reservation is being held for you in the inventory of rooms the hotel blocked for this meeting. IIBEC takes no responsibility should a room type not be available at check-in.

Hotel Scam Warning

Scam housing companies are approaching IBECC attendees and exhibitors with fraudulent offerings of hotel rooms at significant discounts. Lured by highly attractive rates, exhibitors and attendees fall prey to these impostors and end up losing significant deposits, discovering hidden costs, having to pay upfront charges, or being bait and switched to hotel rooms they never booked. These “housing” companies are in no way affiliated with IIBEC or the Hilton Milwaukee City Center.

IIBEC or the Hilton Milwaukee City Center will not contact you directly to make a reservation. The only way to guarantee a room reservation is to use the hotel booking link provided to you in your registration confirmation email.

If you are contacted by anyone asking if you need a room reservation for the IIBEC 2022 Building Enclosure Symposium or claiming to represent the “IIBEC housing provider,” please get as much information as you can, then email meetings@IIBEC.org.

Target Audience architects, engineers, contractors, facility, managers, and other professionals who specialize in roofing, waterproofing and exterior wall tech. Application Process and Deadline

All exhibit applications must be submitted using the BES 2022 Exhibitor Contract. Only completed applications accommodated by payment will be considered. Exhibitor Cancellation Policy

Notification of cancellation must be in writing on company letterhead, postmarked by August 14, 2022, and mailed to Rebecca Murphy, Director of Events, or sent via email to meetings@iibec.org by August 14, 2022.

The cancellation policy is as follows:

  • On or before August 14, 2022; 50% of the contracted fee.
  • After August 14, 2022; No refund.

Exhibitors may not permit any other party to exhibit in their space, any goods other than those manufactured or distributed by the contracting exhibitor or permit the solicitation of business by others within their booth space.
