Overview

Representing the highest level of professional achievement within IIBEC’s credentialing programs, RBECs are recognized leaders providing holistic, integrated solutions that ensure the long-term performance, durability, and resilience of the entire building enclosure system. 

To earn the RBEC designation, candidates must first obtain the Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC) , and Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC) credentials.

RBECs:

  • Maintain advanced understanding of building science principles and enclosure performance.
  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems.
  • Hold a proven ability integrating enclosure systems to achieve air, moisture, and thermal control continuity.
  • Have complex problem-solving and forensic investigation skills of enclosure issues.
  • Practice comprehensive enclosure consulting and design review, specification development, and construction observation for all enclosure systems.
  • Manage multidisciplinary consulting projects and providing strategic technical leadership.
