Wind Ballasted Roofs – Longer lead times on screws, plates and adhesive are shaping our industry to look at other options for moving projects forward. Here is a comprehensive look at a wind ballasted roofing system that is growing in popularity, especially in our current raw material shortage situation.
Our speaker will be: Jay Rodriguez, Vice President IIBEC Central Texas Chapter
Mr. Jay Rodriguez is an expert specializing in the roofing system of the building envelope. As Vice President of the Chapter, Mr. Rodriguez supports the Building Envelope Community through education and communal networking of our local chapter. Jay also sits on the Building Envelope Symposium Committee for IIBEC National (his 4th year) where he is charged with peer review of abstracts (papers and presentations) for the Symposium. Professionally Mr. Rodriguez is a manufacture sales rep for Versico Roofing Systems (Single Ply Membrane), Hunter Panels (polyiso), Karnak Corp. (Roof Cements and Coatings), Carlisle WIP (Water and Ice Protection underlayment), Northwest Roof Tile and Metal (Architectural Metal Roofing), GAP Roofing (Felts) and a few other peripheral lines. Mr. Rodriguez participates in roof assessments, inspections, repair and replacement design and specification, along with sales and marketing.
Mr. Rodriguez started his career 27 years ago as a Roofing Contractor. He sold his business to his partner in 2002 and was a Storm Chaser in Chicago, IL, McAllen, TX, and then in West Palm Beach, FL. Mr. Rodriguez has been a manufactures rep now for 15 years and loves the roofing and building envelope business.
Jay lives in Bee Cave, has a wife and 3 kids, and is also an Ironman Triathlete (had to throw that in there).
