The IIBEC SoCal Chapter invites you to our October Technical Meeting.

Evaluating Advanced Thermal Coating Performance and Modern Energy Modelling

Presented by:  Nathan Kegel Nanotech Materials

The course will explain how advanced thermal coatings affect heat transfer through the building envelope that steady-state R-Value ratings don’t fully capture. It will describe how physics-based hourly energy simulation models coatings can predict their effect on energy use, peak cooling loads and occupant thermal comfort. Lastly we will evaluate thermal coatings against convention envelope upgrades so envelope decisions hold up with code officials, certification programs, and building owners.
