Description
This presentation focuses on moisture and condensation development in controlled-environment buildings, such as  data centers, cold storage, freezers, heated pools, indoor water parks, and laundry facilities. Building operations and characteristics will be discussed and the sources of moisture/condensation will be identified. Various design approaches and critical details will be presented. Case studies will be presented focusing on investigating principles and effective communication with building owners and other stakeholders.

Recommended Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of codes and standards governing operation of controlled environment facilities.
  • Basic knowledge of building science and thermal design.
  • Understanding of the various roofing systems.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Explain the operation and key features of various control-environment facilities.
  • Identify moisture sources and how condensation and moisture damage can be eliminated.
  • Suggest best practices for detailing and installing these roofing assemblies.
  • Investigate the source of a problem and effectively communicate findings.

Cancellation Policy
When needed, refunds may be processed, minus a 10% administrative fee, up until 15 days before the course date.  Within 15 days of the course date, no refund or credit will be processed.  No refund or credit will be processed on requests where the presentation has already been taken in partial or full.
