On  Giving Tuesday last year November 30, 2021, the RCI Foundation Canada received a very special gift in support of the student convention fund from John Petrachek with Atlas-Apex Roofing Inc. in Etobicoke, Ontario. Petrachek and his company made a gift to the foundation for $50,000 specifically to support the students from Canada attending future IIBEC educational events.

“Our company realizes how important it is to provide students in architecture, engineering, and building sciences with these kinds of opportunities,” Petrachek said. “We are glad to be able to pool the resources of our company to make this gift happen and support the future of the building enclosure.”

“John’s gift means a lot to our foundation, especially this year,” said Albert Duwyn, chair of the RCI Foundation Canada Board. “He is an example of cheerful giving, leadership, and what it means for a company to make an impact in our industry.”

Atlas-Apex Roofing operates 19 offices across Canada and the United States. Their services include new construction, reroofing, restoration, siding, sheet metal, waterproofing, green services, and a state-of-the-art emergency response system for facility owners.
