The application process both for sponsorships to attend the 2023 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show and for academic scholarship program awards are now open, the RCI-IIBEC Foundation and RCI Foundation Canada announced January 9, 2023.
The foundations will be providing funding for up to 40 full-time undergraduate and graduate students to attend this year’s convention in Houston, Texas, March 3–6, 2023. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time in architecture, architectural engineering, structural or civil engineering, construction management, building sciences, or other related areas of study. Eligible students may receive the funding twice. Depending on availability, up to three students from the same university may be selected.
The sponsorship includes convention registration, up to four nights lodging at the convention hotel, reimbursement for meals, cost of travel up to $750 (receipts required), and a one-year IIBEC student membership.
The application and all supporting documentation must be received no later than January 31, 2023. The application can be found on the RCI-IIBEC Foundation and RCI Foundation Canada websites.
Additionally, academic scholarship program applications are now being accepted through April 6, 2023, for the Robert W. Lyons and RCI Lewis W. Newlan awards. Applications and more information can be found at https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/rci-iibecfoundation/.
Each year the RCI-IIBEC Foundation awards up to $30,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited program of architecture, architectural engineering, structural or civil engineering, construction, or building sciences. Since 2018, the foundation has awarded $145,000 in academic scholarships through this program.
