RCI Georgia President

The Georgia chapter’s fifth meeting of the year was held on December 2, 2016, at the Sage Woodfire Tavern. Members enjoyed a savory lunch and a presentation given by Christopher Payne, the Manager of Technical Services– Roofing/Product Manager for NB Handy Company of Lynchburg, VA. The presentation, titled ANSI/SPRI ES-1 Standard – Gaining Clarity: What a Consultant Needs to Know, reviewed the following:

  • Identification of the key aspects of ANSI/SPRI ES-1 standard and the International Building Code
  • Different program offerings to roofing contractors for compliance with the standard
  • The reality and risks associated with loose interpretation of the ANSI/SPRI ES-1 standard
  • Independent, third-party quality assurance programs, and their interface with the standard
  • Discussion of the “best practices” regarding the standard, moving forward

The presentation helped members gain additional clarity with the ANSI/SPRI ES-1 Standard and the International Building Code through information exchange and dialogue.

The chapter also elected 2017 officers of the RCI Georgia chapter board. The results were as follows:

Vice President – Bob Kenney with ESI
