The RCI-IIBEC Foundation Board of Directors at its March 9, 2024, meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, elected David Hawn, F-IIBEC, RRC, CEM, as its new chair after Mike Blanchette, F-IIBEC, RRC, RRO, stepped down to assume a consultant representative position on the board. Blanchette had served as chair of the foundation board off and on since the foundation was established in 2001.

“Mike is and continues to be an icon of the foundation,” Hawn said. “I am happy to have him both as a friend, but also as a trusted mentor and colleague. My goal for the foundation is to continue its mission of supporting activities that advance the knowledge of the building enclosure industry through research, educational programs, publications, and our student sponsorships and scholarships.”

Blanchette replied, “The board is good hands with Dave. He has been an active member in this organization and cares deeply about our purpose and the future of our industry. I would like to challenge all our consultant members to join me in bringing Dave and the board ideas that will keep us moving forward in our research projects and publications. Help us connect with local colleges and universities to bring the best and brightest to convention and BES (the Building Enclosure Symposium). And, of course, support us financially so that we may turn these funds around and invest these gifts in students, grants, and the next resource or publication for our members.”

Blanchette concluded, “I have appreciated all the support and respect that has been given to Joe Hale and myself in of our years as chair, and I hope that continues for Dave.”
