The pandemic is causing a unique opportunity for those interested in learning more about the code-change process. In the United States, the International Code Council (ICC) codes are developed on a three-year cycle. Historically, proposed changes to these I-codes are submitted electronically and then debated live during two sets of hearings. Beginning April 11, 2021, one set of such hearings will be held virtually. Any member of the public is able to view testimony on proposed code changes by registering through the ICC here. Click on the “View Hearings ONLY Registration” to register. You can view all of the proposed code changes for this cycle and click on “2021 Group A Complete Proposed Changes.”
