Partnership brings building enclosure and commissioning professionals together on education, training, and advocacy
Raleigh, North Carolina—The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) and the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA) announced on September 25, 2026, that they have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on education, training, and advocacy efforts. The agreement brings together IIBEC’s expertise in the design, investigation, and management of building enclosure systems with BCxA’s leadership in building commissioning, connecting two professional communities that share a commitment to buildings that perform as intended.
IIBEC Executive Vice President and CEO Brian Pallasch said of the MoU, “Building enclosure consultants and commissioning professionals share the same goal: buildings that are safe, durable, and efficient throughout their service lives. This agreement brings our two communities closer together, and it builds on IIBEC’s Certified Building Enclosure Commissioning Provider (CBECxP) certification program, which was accredited last year by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) under the international standard ISO/IEC 17024. We look forward to working with BCxA to expand education and training opportunities for members of both organizations.”
BCxA Executive Director Liz Fischer said, “Building commissioning begins with a more efficient, collaborative design and construction process and continues throughout the life of the building with greater energy efficiency, enhanced safety, and lower operation and maintenance costs. IIBEC consultants understand these aspects of the built environment. We look forward to working with IIBEC to advance the building enclosure industry as we collaborate on education, training, and advocacy efforts.”
