This week’s featured speaker for the 2025 IIBEC BES is Richard Krock. Don’t miss Richard speaking on Monday, October 27, at 3:05 p.m. during his presentation, “Advances in Education and Evaluations for PVC Single-Ply Roof Membrane Recycling Practices,” part of a great education lineup. Richard is a principal at VyChlor Advisors LLC.
Why should people attend your session?
How can something such as a roof tear off and replacement become a more sustainable building enclosure renovation practice? There is no better way to preserve carbon and recapture valuable molecules than by recycling your end-of-life PVC roof membrane. Attend this session to view the new educational tools created by the Coated Fabrics and Film Association that provide simple instructions on removing, packaging, and bundling the old roof membrane for shipment to a recycler. New products created with this recycled material have a lower embodied carbon content. And eliminating waste materials sent to the local landfill is a huge benefit. Learn how much carbon emissions can be avoided by recycling the end-of-life single ply PVC roof membrane..
What are you most looking forward to at the 2025 IIBEC BES?
There is a terrific lineup of speakers this year. I am looking forward to learning from each speaker about their approach to identifying and addressing problems along with their innovative solutions.
What was your favorite game as a child?
As a child, I enjoyed playing pick-up games of baseball with my friends in our neighborhood. As expected, we made up our own rules as we played.
Where is the coolest place you’ve traveled?
One of the most fascinating places I have visited is Bethells Beach New Zealand, an area remarkable for its fine black sands formed by millennia of volcanic activity and oceanic waves.
