Each June, ASTM Committee D08 recognizes members for outstanding contributions to its standard development program. This year several RCI members were among the recipients.
Steven Heinje of the Spokane facility of GAF received The D08 Distinguished Leadership Award. The award recognizes an individual’s exceptional leadership service to ASTM D08. Steve, a 15-year member of D08, was cited for “outstanding leadership and personal commitment to Technical Committee D08, and in particular dedicated sharing of his coating-performance experiences and expertise that is critical to the successful development of sound standards for roof coatings.”
Jerry Beall of FiberTite Roofing Systems received a D08 Plaque of Appreciation. These awards recognize important contributions of a specific nature and provide kudos for jobs well done. Jerry was cited for his leadership in maintaining specification D6754, “Specification for Ketone Ethylene Ester Based Sheet Roofing.”
Walt Rossiter of RCI, Inc. also received a D08 Plaque of Appreciation. Together with co-chair Sudhakar Molleti, NRC, Walt was recognized as the co-chair of the Eighth D08 Symposium on Roofing Research and Standards Development.
