The North Carolina Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) Facilities and Grounds Division Conference took place in Kitty Hawk, NC on May 3-5, 2017. This annual spring conference is billed as, “…a great opportunity for individuals to obtain educational knowledge as well as networking opportunities with people in similar positions across the State.”
The conference opened with a golf tournament on Wednesday afternoon. Educational sessions ran from Thursday morning until Friday at noon. A variety of facilities management-related topics were covered over the course of the day-and-a-half conference. Subjects included HVAC Controls & Building Automation and Playground Safety Surfacing & Inspections. There were also a number of exhibits and equipment demonstrations.
Wanda Edwards, senior director of technical services for RCI, Inc., represented RCI at the conference.
