IIBEC members who are interested in playing a greater role in the International Code Council’s (ICC’s) code development process have several opportunities available to them. A call for ICC committee participation has been issued for the 2027 cycle. Applications for the Code Development Committees (CDCs), Code Interpretation Committees (CICs), and the Code Correlation Committee (CCC) are due June 1, 2023.
CDCs are responsible for the review and evaluation of code change proposals submitted to the 2024 ICC Codes. CICs provide technical support for adopting jurisdictions by processing official interpretations for the ICC Codes. Finally, the CCC is responsible for evaluating matters of consistency, coordination, and format in the ICC Codes.
The 2026 IIBEC Building Enclosure Symposium (BES) is now accepting abstract submissions through January 14, 2026.
