IIBEC recently submitted a letter raising concerns about H.B. 65, Construction Code Amendments, which if signed into law would allow existing layers of polyisocyanurate insulation to remain in place during certain roof replacements. The letter highlights risks related to inconsistent enforcement, concealed moisture, reduced roof performance, and potential warranty issues.
IIBEC has urged lawmakers to pause further action while the industry works toward a consensus-based solution that protects building performance, public safety, and long-term value. IIBEC remains committed to providing technical expertise and advocating for high-quality building enclosure practices
