Guido Capolino, 90, died May 26, 2020, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, after an illness. Born Dec. 7, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Sisto and Gaetana Capolino, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Beacon Roofing for over 45 years and continued to work as a consultant and manufacturers’ rep. He was a longtime Industry member of IIBEC. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a parishioner of St. Mary, Our Lady of the Falls in Wappingers Falls, NY. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Nora “P.A.N.” O’Donnell Capolino; sons Steven, Guido, and Remo; daughters Susan and Josette; sister Corinne Erard; 14 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He is predeceased by brothers Ilando, Robert, and Eugene. Donations may be made in Guido’s memory to the National Geographic Society. Kerry “Pete” Keener RRC, RRO, CIT, has joined Amtech Solutions, Inc.‘s Building Envelope Services Division. Keener has over 30 years of building enclosure assessment, testing, design, construction, and project management experience. A graduate of Franklin College in Indiana, Keener is an RRC and an RRO, as well as a Certified Infrared Thermographer (CIT). During his extensive career, Keener has worked for some of the nation’s leading building enclosure consulting and A/E firms, as well as owned and operated his own consulting practice. He has served on the IIBEC Education Committee, and as liaison for the IIBEC San Antonio Branch. In 2019, he was awarded first place in the Small Projects category of the IIBEC Document Competition for his work on the University Center at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Keener is also active with the Roofing Industry Committee on Weather Issues (RICOWI). Based in Amtech’s new San Antonio office, Keener will be a senior project manager; his role will include all aspects of design and technical oversight, project management, performing peer reviews, mentoring junior staff, and managing clients and projects throughout the Central Texas Region.
