Members of the IIBEC Jury of Fellows presented the Friends of the Fort Chiswell Library a specially painted turkey feather portrait of Joe Hale for the new Joe Hale Library of Fort Chiswell. The jury also donated $6,350 to the group in Joe’s memory.

Attending the presentation were past IIBEC presidents and current IIBEC members Nelson Hall and David Hawn; Patsy Hale, wife of Joe Hale; Rick Gardner, foundations development officer; and Friends of the Fort Chiswell Directors Tony Stroupe, Earle Libby, and Frances Watson.

“This library is something Joe told us was important to him,” said Hall. “He gave us the instructions, now we just need to keep on following through with his vision.”
