The 2017 RCI Building Envelope Technology Symposium is being held at a premier resort in Orlando, FL on November 13 and 14. The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate has all the standard features you’d expect of a nice hotel. The guest rooms include mini refrigerators, a Kuerig coffee maker, flat-screen TVs, and a number of other amenities.

But the real draw of the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate is what’s available outside of the guest rooms. There are seven restaurants, including a sushi and sake bar (with pan-Asian offerings, if raw fish is not your style), an Italian restaurant where you can dine al fresco (or not!), a deli for picking up a quick lunch, and an upscale sports bar and grill. You can even head out to the Piper’s Grille for dinner, and hear live bagpipes just before sunset.

There are 15 acres of pool and recreation activities, including an 850-foot lazy river, a zero-entry family pool, and Florida’s only in-resort wave pool.

And of course, any offering for our RCI members would be incomplete without mention of the onsite golf course. Did I say course? I meant courses. There are two 18-hole golf courses, designed by renowned golfer and course architect Greg Norman. There’s also a lighted nine-hole par-3 course. You can walk out and play or take a shuttle to the golf course or the David Leadbetter Golf Academy (not that we think any of our members need lessons, mind you).

And if miniature golf is more your speed, there’s also a family-friendly 18-hole putt-putt course near the pools.

The resort has received five different awards for being a meeting and convention site, and even gets two palms from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging Program.
