The structure will be on the current site of the Museum of London.
Concept designs for the London Centre for Music have been released by Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R). The preferred site for the world-class venue is currently occupied by the Museum of London, but will become available after the museum moves to a larger site at West Smithfield.

Local authorities have recently backed the next phase of work by providing £2.49 million for further design development, fundraising, and business modeling.

The new concert hall, supported by the Barbican, London Symphony Orchestra, and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, will create open, welcoming, and traffic-free public spaces, linking to the Barbican estate’s highwalk network. The heart of the proposed center will be a 2000-seat concert hall.
