In September 2025, the IIBEC Board of Directors approved several recommendations from the IIBEC Governance Task Force, formed with a charge “to ensure that IIBEC’s governance is effective, inclusive, and relevant.”
As discussed at the Annual Meeting of the Members at the IIBEC convention in Sacramento, California, the IIBEC Board of Directors, Governance Task Force, and staff have begun the process of implementing the adopted recommendations. One key component will be a vote on changes to the IIBEC Bylaws. In accordance with the bylaws, all eligible voting members will get a chance to vote on the IIBEC Bylaws changes. This vote will occur later this spring.

The webinar will feature IIBEC Governor Task Force Chair Jonathan Cannon, RRC, REWC, RRO, REWO, CDT. (Cannon was recently elected as the IIBEC Secretary/Treasurer for 2026–2027.) Joining Cannon will be two other task force members: IIBEC Region VII Director Stephanie Robinson, PEng, and Tom Gernetzke, F-IIBEC, RBEC, CBECxP.
