Jason Wilen, RRO, AIA, CDT, has joined Klein & Hoffman in Chicago, IL, as a senior associate after seven years with the technical services section of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). He also served as NRCA’s organizational representative for ASHRAE 90.1 and ASHRAE 189.1. Wilen received his bachelor’s of architecture degree from Illinois Institute of Technology and is a member of the ASTM D08 and E60 committees.

Lonnie Haughton, a senior partner at Richard Avelar & Associates in Oakland, CA, has published a 10-page “Abridged History of the Statewide California Building Code,” which reports: “While modern construction professionals increasingly tend to assume that state authorities have always enforced a statewide building code, it actually was not until the mid 1980s that the legislature seized full control of the codes-writing process from the local communities.”
Matt Dutrow, PE, is now a Senior Consultant and an Associate Principal at Allana Buick & Bers, Inc. Dutrow joined ABBAE in 2007, bringing with him 23 years of subcontracting and construction management experience in the building envelope, with expertise in glazing and specialty waterproofing. He resides in San Francisco and is a Consultant Affiliate member of RCI.
