During its June meeting in Seattle, Washington, ASTM International presented longtime IIBEC member Walt Rossiter Jr., F-IIBEC, PhD, with multiple awards.
Rossiter received one of ASTM International’s Society Awards—the Gumpertz Award, given for “distinguished career, leadership and contributions in the field of building enclosures as well as dedicated service to those advancing the field including researchers, consultants, and contractors.”
Rossiter also received two awards from ASTM Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing. The organization’s Award of Appreciation was given to Rossiter in recognition of his “outstanding leadership, distinguished service and personal dedication as chairperson to the D08.92 Awards Subcommittee.”
ASTM Committee D08 also awarded Rossiter with an Honorary Membership in recognition of ”40 years of distinguished service and dedicated personal commitment to Committee D08.” That service includes 6 years as chair of the main committee; 8 years as chair of D08.18 on Non-Bituminous Organic Roof Coverings; 17 years of leadership of the D08.92 on Awards and Honors; and more than 34 years of co-chairing D08 Symposia, as well as chairing numerous task groups.
During the same meeting, ASTM International also presented IIBEC members Ralph M. Paroli, , CChem; Paul Buccellato, F-IIBEC, RWC, REWC, FASTM, AIA; and Jean-François Côté with the following awards, respectively: the ASTM Voss Award, the D08 Cullen Award, and the D08 Distinguished Leadership Award.
IIBEC congratulates Rossiter, Paroli, Buccellato, and Côté on ASTM’s recognition of their contributions to the building enclosure industry.
