In 1995, IIBEC (then RCI) was 12 years old. The Tenth RCI Convention, held in Reno, NV, boasted over 700 attendees and 126 companies exhibited at the trade show.
Interface went to a monthly publication schedule. A survey of Interface readers indicated that 79% saved their copy in their libraries. (How far back does your Interface library go?) In October of 1995, Past President Richard Horowitz, well known for his writing, suddenly passed away, and the Horowitz Award was established in his memory. The Horowitz Award honors the best technical article published each year in Interface.
A new region was born, giving the entirety of Canada its own region. By the end of the year, IIBEC had crossed the 1,000-member mark, though many on the books were not officially “paid up.”
