President’s Message: It’s Been a Blessing to Serve April 17, 2026 Greetings, IIBEC community! Writing this last IIBEC Interface column has been more difficult than I thought it would be, as I want to find just the right words to express my gratitude for the positive ways that IIBEC has affected my life and work journey and my ability to serve clients. It has been a blessing to serve over the past several years in a leadership role alongside a strong, talented, and committed team of colleagues who advocate for our profession with wisdom and vision.
Net-Zero/Carbon-Neutral Retrofits, 140 Kendrick St. Case Study: Tactics, Tradeoffs, and Takeaways April 9, 2026 This case study will focus on 140 Kendrick St., Building A, a 106,000 ft2 (9,850 m2) office building that has undergone a retrofit focused on improving overall operational efficiency and occupant comfort. Building A is the first net-zero, carbon-neutral office repositioning of this scale in Massachusetts, meaning that it is a highly energy-efficient building that produces renewable energy on site to meet building operations’ energy consumption annually.
